Statement of Faith

Taipei International Church is interdenominational in its fellowship and ministry. We believe that certain truths are indispensable for a genuine Christian life and witness.

We believe in one GOD, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit – each equally deserving worship and obedience. We believe that God has revealed Himself to us in His Son, Jesus Christ. God is to be worshiped and obeyed as the source and Lord of all life.

We believe that JESUS CHRIST is God’s unique Son, sent to our world as God in the flesh. He is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He came to reveal God to us and to provide the way for us to know God and have eternal life. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of God, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.

We believe that God’s HOLY SPIRIT gives new and eternal spiritual life to all who receive Jesus Christ by faith. His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and, during this age, to convict people of their sins, regenerate those who believe and indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.

We believe that PEOPLE were originally created innocent and pure, but that the first of these fell through the sin of disobedience so all people and all creation since then have been separated from God and from each other. Therefore all people are corrupt in body, soul, and spirit by nature and are in need of reconciliation.

We believe that God has graciously provided SALVATION through Jesus Christ who died on the cross as the substitutionary atonement for sin, and rose again from the dead to open the way to new life. All who place their complete life’s trust in Jesus Christ are saved from their fallen condition by God’s grace alone, apart from works or merit.

We believe the BIBLE to be the inspired, trustworthy Word of God. It is our only rule of faith and practice. The Bible is to be taught and preached, applying its truth to everyday life.

BAPTISM and COMMUNION are observed by the church. Baptismal arrangements are made through the pastors. Communion of the Lord’s Supper is celebrated regularly.
